Maya brings a passion for social innovation, an entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset, authentic leadership, and results-driven attitude. Her interests and experience has led her to become a community builder and social change agent, focusing on collective impact.
As Greentown Labs’ Community Director, Maya is responsible for overseeing its rapidly growing community and curating its community programming to suit and exceed the needs of its members, ensuring the incubator experience is valuable and impactful for each startup.
Maya has spent the last decade working in multiple leadership roles, engaging diverse stakeholders, facilitating cross-sector partnerships, creating programming and events, and managing the multiple details of organizing major projects. As the former Director of Membership and Community Relations at the Kendall Square Association, she was responsible for fostering community and stewarding relationships with leading life science and technology companies, cutting edge startups, and research institutions. She has been invited to speak at conferences such as the Innovation Huddle in Honolulu, Hawaii, and the Youth Entrepreneurship Summit in Alexandria, Egypt.
Maya serves on the City of Somerville’s Innovation and Opportunity Lab Advisory Committee which is committed to helping build an inclusive innovation ecosystem in Somerville. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Art from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She is an avid photographer, outdoor enthusiast, world traveler, tinkerer, foodie, and currently working on mastering her cooking skills. Fun fact: Maya grew up in Somerville and is a proud Somervillian.
