Tufts University Summer Fellow
Catherine Mengyun Yang is the Tufts University Summer Fellow at Greentown Labs. She is responsible for furthering the collaboration between Tufts and Greentown and building partnerships with global leaders in clean technology and innovation. She is pursuing a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from Tufts Fletcher School and a Master of Science in Data Analytics from Tufts. She has a great passion for clean-tech innovation and corporate sustainability, and devotes her time to a wide range of disciplines.
Prior to Greentown, Catherine worked at the World Bank as a consultant on digital economy and did research on climate change mitigation at Stockholm Environment Institute. She served as one of the Co-Vice Presidents of Projects at Harvard Law and International Development Society for the 2018-2019 school year. She also interned at several international organizations including UN and UNICEF with extensive research and data analysis experience. She earned her BA in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University.
Catherine co-founded a 501(c)(3) organization called Discus Institute with the mission to tackle the challenges of sustainable development by leveraging the strength and resources of the private sector to produce innovative social and environmental solutions. She was born and grew up in Shanghai, China. She loves exploring new restaurants and running along the Charles River during her spare time.
