Adam Rodrigues

Manufacturing Fellow

As part of Greentown Labs Manufacturing Initiative, Adam manages Western Massachusetts as Greentown’s Manufacturing Fellow out of the new Springfield office at Springfield Technology Park. In this role, Adam identifies and manages opportunities for eastern area hardware startups to collaborate and utilize the rich network of manufacturing resources offered in Western Massachusetts. In an effort to bridge the gap between east and west, startups and manufacturing, Adam provides resources such as facilitating factory tours, manufacturing workshops, networking events, and open office hours.

Prior to joining Greentown, Adam was a Supply Chain and Operations professional for Lenox Manufacturing (a Newell Rubbermaid Company and global leader in premium band saws and hand tools). He has worked in manufacturing for the last 8 years, starting on the floor as a machine operator and quickly working his way up the ranks to Operations Manager and most recently a Buyer in the Supply Chain division. In his time in manufacturing he has had the unique opportunity to experience, first hand, several of the different branches that create successful flow-line operations.

Adam is a contributing member of Valley Venture Mentors in Springfield (www.valleyventurementors.org), serving as a mentor to their startup accelerator and volunteer consultant for their manufacturing accelerator program. He also volunteers his time as an assistant instructor for Cooking Matters (www.cookingmatters.org) which helps low income families to shop for and cook healthy meals on a budget.

Adam is currently in his final year of the University Without Walls program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Outside of the office Adam enjoys spending time traveling New England with his wife Gina, playing guitar and making music with his 4-year-old daughter Simone, discovering new craft beers with his 23-year-old step-son Aidan, and hiking with his golden retriever Luna. Adam plays 3rd base for a Springfield-area 30+ team baseball league and LOVES podcasts (fav’s are WTF, Tara Brach, The Moth, and The Tim Ferriss Show). Adam is also an amateur fitness and nutrition coach (www.anchorfitnessandnutrition.weebly.com).
