Greentown Labs’ Community Director, Elizabeth Barno, Named an Emerging Executive Finalist for the 20th Annual Technology Leadership Awards

July 26, 2014, Somerville, Mass. – Last week, Greentown Labs was thrilled and honored to learn our Community Director, Elizabeth Barno, has been named an Emerging Executive Finalist in the 2017 Mass Technology Leadership Council (MassTLC) Technology Leadership Awards. Liz Barno is the curator and driver of the amazing Greentown Labs community that more than 50 cleantech startups call home. From recruiting new startups to the incubator, to managing its alumni network, Liz is the keeper of the culture at Greentown Labs. When she’s not brainstorming ways to continue evolving the Greentown Labs community, Liz is busy tailoring the incubator’s offerings based on each startup’s particular needs. She is the one who startups turn to when it comes time to connect with the many resources available at Greentown Labs.

“It is an honor to be a finalist for Emerging Executive of the Year. I am humbled and proud to be in the company of such accomplished finalists—many of whom are fellow women—and following in the footsteps of another great female leader, Emily Reichert, the CEO of Greentown Labs. I’d like to recognize all of my colleagues at Greentown Labs and the entrepreneurs that I work with for allowing me the opportunities that make this nomination possible—I am inspired by you every day.”

Finalists for the MassTLC Technology Leadership Awards were selected from hundreds of nominations, as judged by panels of industry leaders in each of the 14 categories. The pool of finalists will be further narrowed during the coming weeks. Winners will be announced at the MassTLC Leadership Awards Gala on September 14 at Boston’s Seaport World Trade Center.

“Massachusetts is among the world’s top regions engaged in creating whole new industries and markets while redefining existing ones,” said MassTLC President Tom Hopcroft. “We produce visionary leaders and exciting, high-growth companies and startups that propel the state’s economy. Ranging from robotics and the internet of things to products for financial or security operations, our 20th annual Technology Leadership Awards draws attention to the deep pool of talent, innovative spirit, and determination that thrives in the Bay State.”
