Greentown Labs CEO Emily Reichert awarded “Decade of Influence Award” by NECEC

Reichert among eight industry leaders receiving NECEC’s 10th Anniversary Award

October 26, 2017, Somerville, MA – Dr. Emily Reichert is one of eight leaders who will be awarded the “Decade of Influence Award by NECEC (The Northeast Clean Energy Council) at NECEC’s 10th Annual Green Tie Gala this evening. The honorees are all leaders in the Northeast clean energy sphere that have made their mark on the industry over the past ten years. The Green Tie Gala is the premiere clean energy networking event in the region and with more than 400 guests expected, the gala brings together the industry for an evening of celebration of the collective clean energy mission and the year’s successes.

As the company’s first employee, Emily has spearheaded the rapid growth of Greentown Labs into a global center for clean technology innovation, attracting visitors and partners from around the world. Emily has been appointed to leadership positions on innovation, economic development, entrepreneurship and clean technology commercialization at the city, state, and federal level including the City of Somerville’s Chamber of Commerce, the Massachusetts Governor’s Economic Development Planning Council and the U.S. Secretary of Commerce’s National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship. She holds a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and earned her MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.

NECEC President Peter Rothstein stated about the awardees that, “Through their passion, drive, expertise and execution they made significant impacts at their individual organizations, and have also played uniquely valuable roles in the growth of the clean energy industry and ecosystem.”

NECEC is a regional non-profit clean energy organization that works to bring together the community of clean energy stakeholders in the Northeast. They work with both private and public entities to help clean energy businesses thrive.
