Greentown Labs CEO to Deliver Morning Keynote Address at National Grid’s Customer and Partner Energy Efficiency Summit

Dr. Emily Reichert to share how Greentown Labs became the nation’s largest cleantech incubator through collaboration and community

October, 18, 2017, Somerville, MA Tomorrow, Greentown Labs’ CEO Dr. Emily Reichert will deliver the morning keynote address at at National Grid’s 2017 Customer and Partner Energy Efficiency Summit. The summit will focus on sustainability solutions and innovative new technologies, something Emily is very familiar with. Her keynote will highlight how Greentown Labs supports more than 55 cleantech startups developing technologies that aim to tackle the greatest challenge of our time: climate change.

Greentown Labs has seen dramatic growth in recent years because of its community that’s comprised of passionate startups, and committed and supportive partners like National Grid. National Grid has been deeply involved in the Greentown Labs community ever since they became a sponsor in 2013.

The 2017 National Grid Summit will include discussions on a variety of topics relating to energy conservation and efficiency. The summit will be held tomorrow, Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Gillette Stadium, 1 Patriot Place, Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Often referred to as the best energy-related conference in the region, the Energy Efficiency Summit attracts National Grid’s largest commercial, industrial, municipal and institutional leaders from Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Representatives from Greentown Labs will be stationed at booth 24 to answer any questions about the incubator and meet with industry leaders.

Former EPA Administrator for the Obama administration, Gina McCarthy, will provide the afternoon keynote tomorrow, and Emily and Gina will join the prestigious ranks of former keynote speakers among Maryrose T. Sylvester, CEO and President of Current by GE and Stacy Allison, the first American woman to climb Mt. Everest.

As the company’s first employee, Emily has spearheaded the rapid growth of Greentown Labs into a global center for clean technology innovation, attracting visitors and partners from around the world. Emily has been appointed to leadership positions on innovation, economic development, entrepreneurship and clean technology commercialization at the city, state, and federal level including the City of Somerville’s Chamber of Commerce, the Massachusetts Governor’s Economic Development Planning Council and the U.S. Secretary of Commerce’s National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship. She holds a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and earned her MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.
